and hats! Meet Yvette,
I had the idea to make a paper puppet with a bright summer hat. She has bare feet because she likes to feel the cool grass on her toes and she wears a pretty folk bow like our other pal Beau Bear...
Sigh, a handsome pair, Yvette and Beau Bear.
I really can't get enough of this dead stock folk ribbon we've been getting from a store here in Montreal. I want to buy it all and it saddens me that it will eventually run out.
This will have to do for now. I will try not to let greed take over. Yvette and Bear wear it well but I might have to create a bunch of other bow wearing folk... and sew a few bows on a few things of mine too.

We Pin Pals have been busy with a bunch of orders and projects. I thought I'd share with you some of the latest shops that have welcomed Pin Pals into their world.

Eli Phant is an equally charming gallery and boutique located close by in Portland, Maine. I'll just paste this description from the Eli-phant website:
As curious collectors, Eli Phant and his wife Ella travel the globe collecting evidence of a handmade world– a world of creativity and ingenuity which exists everywhere, but which many people don’t even realize is there. A world where work and play intertwine and are sometimes indistinguishable, and where beauty and function are on friendly terms. This world is all around us, believe it or not, even now– you just need to look for it.
Need I say more? How would Pin Pals survive without the careful eyes and curiosity of traveling collectors in search of handmade treasures!
Psarokokalo is a new store opening soon in Athens Greece, our first shop in Europe, yippee! We can't wait to see what they put together.
Assemble Shop is a new gallery and studio in Seattle put together by two lovely ladies. Assemble functions as "a gallery of inspiration and ideas: a place for people to assemble, make, and do." Sam is going to be warming the hearts of Seattle with her insanely adorable cross stitch pieces for her show at Assemble really soon (I think she's going to post something about it so I'll say no more)
It's great to see more studio's/shop/galleries like Assemble that involve the public more by offering a space that people can learn and create in. This type of set up reminds me of the Workroom in Toronto, and Fancy Tiger in Denver, Colorado (might be spending some time there soon (^_-)More in our neck of the woods, and on a larger scale (for us Pals at least), Onze Is a great store that has three locations in Montreal but started as one on 4151 (4+1+5+1=Onze) St. Laurent. The owners take care in selecting their clothes and accessories, mixing hand crafted items with international brands, and are always on the look out for emerging designers.
And, we just added some new items to New Accident Gallery in Japan. We love this store and especially Hiroto, the owner, who taught us these Japanese emoticons:
(^_^) (^O^)
(^.^) happy
(^3^) kiss
(^-^)/\(^-^) high five
(@_@;) trouble,
(T_T)
sad,tear
(>_<) sad,ouch
(-_-)zzz sleep
I over use them(^.^)
So there you have it, new friends in new places. We sure get around (@_@;)

He's handsome
He has a nice package And he brings home the...salmon?
Beau bear may not be like other 2010 babies with his folksy bow and superior hunting skills. But he fits into this family just fine.
