The Workroom

This past weekend I was in Toronto cutting my paper puppets at the Workroom in Parkdale.  I was advised to pay a visit to the workroom by the lovely ladies at Toronto Craft Alert when I was looking for a place to have my puppets cut.  The Workroom is equipped with all the necessities, sewing machines and sergers and is a welcoming space where you can sew and craft by the hour.  It's also run by a great lady named Karyn accompanied by her lovely dog Mazie.  When I was there Karyn was sewing a cute ironing board cover and I notice on her blog that she posted a tutorial on how she did it, I'm definitely going to look that up in the future.  The Workroom also sells fabric, I picked up a fat quarter of this amazing print.  I meant to take my camera to take some pictures of the cutting but I forgot. Luckily Karyn took some pictures.

Laser cutting the puppets.  Each sheet is placed one at a time and a vector image in the computer tells it where to go.  Pretty neat!

Puces Pop Printemps

The Pin Pals were at Puces Pop this past weekend. It was packed full of great vendors and the wafting smell of homemade Polish food for sale. Despite the rainy weather. people were out in droves eager for fresh spring crafts! We premiered some of our new Tshirt designs and cross-stitch buttons, along with puppets (including a very popular mini family trio) and new DIY versions of Mr.Combs, Bushberberis and Sid.

Flip Books

Upcoming shows starring The Pin Pals (amongst others!)

We are involved in two major Christmas craft fairs happening in less than two weeks!
One being SOUK at SAT, the other being Hot Cakes. We will be selling paper dolls, flip-books, mini pals, Tshirts, Cross-stitch brooches/earrings and Cornet Pins! See you there.

Burnaby and Alicia Paper dolls

We are now selling Burnaby and Alicia as paper dolls. I can't resist them as a pair snug in their envelope! They are a headache to make, a lot of cutting, but I think it's well worth it:

B&A also make me want draw in less colour and more black. I'm happy with how simple they look.
